Who we are
This policy explains the data practices of Tidehaven: Resort Tycoon, an Android game published by Aeternum under the Aeternum Games brand. For privacy questions, contact marcussen.business@hotmail.com.
Game progress and device storage
The game saves your resort progress and preferences on your device. This includes venue levels, hosts, in-game balances, research, goals, gift and away-earnings timestamps, sound and motion settings, and a short history of gameplay event names and timestamps. The event history is stored with your save; the game does not send it to a developer analytics service.
Tidehaven does not require an account, ask for your name, or provide its own account-based cloud save. We do not operate a game-progress server. Android backup services may back up or restore app data according to your device and Google account settings.
Age and optional advertising preferences
Tidehaven is intended for players aged 13 and over. A dismissible age choice offers Under 13, 13–17 and 18+ equally, without asking for a date of birth. You may play without answering. The game stores only the selected range and whether optional advertising is enabled, locally in device preferences separate from the resort save. Tidehaven does not send these preferences to a developer server or include them in exported resort backups.
Optional advertising is off by default. With an unanswered age choice, an age below 18, or ads off, the game does not start Google consent or advertising services or request ads. Normal income, island goals, research, the free daily gift and the free claim of away earnings remain available. Selecting 18+ does not enable advertising; an adult must separately choose Enable optional ads after reading the disclosure.
Settings lets you review your age range and turn optional ads off. On Android, changing the age choice or disabling ads after Google services have started saves the restriction and closes the app to stop the current advertising process. Reopen Tidehaven to continue with ads off. A resort reset or imported game backup does not change these preferences. The native copy is excluded from Android cloud backup and device transfer; if other app data is restored, advertising remains off until the local and native preferences agree on an explicit adult opt-in.
Backups you choose to export
Download save and Restore backup let you keep or import a JSON copy of your progress. On Android, export creates a file in the app cache and opens the system share sheet. You choose the receiving app or destination. That provider handles the copy under its own privacy policy. Cache files may be removed by Android; keep a separate copy if you want a lasting backup.
Advertising and consent
For adults who explicitly enable optional advertising, the Android app uses Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK) for optional rewarded ads and Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) for advertising consent and privacy choices. Enabling advertising starts the Google consent flow; the advertising SDK initializes only when that flow allows ad requests. On later launches, a saved adult opt-in starts a fresh consent update before advertising initialization. No rewarded ad is requested until you choose its offer. These Google services may process data before an individual reward offer; declining an optional reward after enabling ads does not undo that processing.
Google advertising services may collect and share IP addresses (which can indicate approximate location), device or advertising identifiers, interactions such as app launches, taps and video views, and diagnostic information such as performance, crashes, hangs or energy use. Google uses this information to provide and measure advertising, prevent fraud and abuse, and operate and improve its services. What is processed depends on the SDK, device, region and consent choices. Tidehaven does not request precise GPS location, contacts, microphone or camera access.
Where Google requires a consent form for an adult who enabled ads, the app presents it before advertising initialization or ad requests. Settings shows Ad privacy choices when Google requires that entry point and optional advertising is enabled. The separate game preference can turn all optional advertising off worldwide. These choices do not erase your local resort save or data already held by Google. You can also manage, reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings. Google controls the data it receives and its retention under its own policies.
Support messages
If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you include. We use it to answer your request and address support or privacy issues. Avoid sending information you do not want included in a support message. Our email provider processes messages as part of delivering this service.
Retention and deletion
Local game data remains until you replace or clear it. Settings → Start a fresh island → Clear progress and start fresh resets the resort save, including its local gameplay history, while preserving the separate age and advertising preferences. Android app settings can clear app storage; uninstalling removes the app’s local storage, although an operating-system backup may later restore game data. A game reset does not remove exported files, copies held by other apps, Android backups, advertising identifiers or data already held by Google.
Delete exported backups from the locations you chose and manage Android backups and advertising identifiers in your device or account settings. For support correspondence or other privacy requests, email marcussen.business@hotmail.com. We retain support correspondence as needed to handle the request and any applicable obligations; we do not set a retention period for Google advertising data. Google privacy controls and policies explain options for data it holds.
Security and sharing
Game saves use the app’s local device storage and are not encrypted by Tidehaven. Keep your device and backup files secure. Google Mobile Ads uses encryption in transit for its collected data. No system can promise absolute security. We do not sell the local game save or send it to a developer analytics service; advertising providers and destinations you choose for exported backups process data as described above.
Children and policy updates
Tidehaven does not ask a player to provide a name, date of birth or profile. Its local age-range preference withholds all optional advertising for players under 18 and for unanswered choices. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us in a support message, contact us so we can address it. We may update this policy when the app or its data practices change. The date above identifies the current version, which is available in the app and on the public policy page.
